Our Story

Cookie's Cuddle Farm was founded on a simple but powerful belief: when animals are given love, safety, and compassion, they often return those gifts in extraordinary ways. Our mission is built on the idea that healing is mutual—rescued animals find hope, and in turn, they help people heal.

Tim and Cookie's journey — from Zeus the therapy dog to founding Cookie's Cuddle Farm

After a heartbreaking experience working with a child in crisis, founder Tim came home emotionally exhausted. The weight of that day lingered long into the night, leaving him unable to sleep and questioning whether he could continue teaching.

As he lay awake on the couch, his boxer, Zeus, quietly climbed up beside him and gently rested his body across Tim's chest. The comfort was immediate. The anxiety began to fade, and for the first time that night, Tim found peace and finally drifted to sleep.

Although Tim had always known the love animals could offer, that moment revealed something much deeper. It became clear that the connection between people and animals had the power to heal in remarkable ways.

Inspired by that experience, Tim began volunteering with Zeus as a certified therapy dog through a local animal therapy program. Together, they visited schools and spent years bringing comfort to children, educators, and families. Each visit strengthened Tim's conviction that animals possess a unique ability to calm, connect, and restore.

As Tim and his wife, Livy, dreamed about the future, one question kept returning:

If dogs can help people heal, what might be possible with rescued farm animals?

That question became the beginning of Cookie's Cuddle Farm.

Over the years, Tim and Livy have welcomed more than 50 rescued animals into their lives, including a beautiful miniature donkey named Cookie. Through patience, kindness, and trust, these animals have become confident, gentle companions who now offer comfort and connection to others.

Today, Cookie's Cuddle Farm is more than an animal sanctuary. It is a place where rescue and healing happen together. Every animal is given the opportunity to feel safe, loved, and valued—and every visitor is invited to experience the peace, joy, and hope that these remarkable animals so naturally share.

Because sometimes the ones we rescue end up rescuing us.

Our Mission & Values

Everything we do at Cookie's Cuddle Farm is guided by a core set of values that emphasize healing through connections.

Healing and Relationships

The animals at the farm are given space and respect to approach those that they choose to approach. Relationship building is based on their comfort and timing.

Compassionate Care

Every animal in our care is treated with the same kindness and respect we would give any family member. Every member of the farm is unique and celebrated.

Education & Awareness

We believe knowledge creates change. Through farm visits, community events, and outreach, we help people understand and connect with farm animals.

Community Connection

We are stronger together. From our volunteers to our donors and visitors, our community is the heartbeat of everything we do.
